Domestic Air-Cushioned Shield Sluice Manufacturers Introduce Pre-Construction Preparations for Steel Dam Sluices

The steel dam gate is a type of sluice gate commonly used in China’s water conservancy construction projects. So, what are the specific construction requirements and installation methods for steel dam gates? Today, a domestic air shield gate manufacturer will give you an introduction!
I. Pre-construction Preparations
The project manager shall coordinate with the owner to arrange the necessary conditions for the installation of the steel dam gate and complete the technical disclosure work.
- The domestic air shield gate manufacturer shall review the installation layout drawing of the steel dam gate and check whether the reserved holes for the steel dam gate match the drawing. If any defects are found, solutions shall be proposed.
- Temporary power supply and fire prevention: A dedicated distribution box shall be set up for power supply configuration. All load components shall be equipped with leakage protection devices. During welding operations, oxy-acetylene flame and welding machines shall be used, and fire extinguishers must be provided to prevent fire hazards.
- Familiarize yourself with the drawings and documents, formulate a construction schedule, organize technical training for all construction personnel, and highlight the difficulties in the construction process. This ensures that all personnel understand the project characteristics and technical requirements, so that construction can be organized scientifically and operations can be carried out in accordance with regulations.
II. Installation Plan of the Gate
The operation of the steel dam gate is controlled by two integrated hoists, with three positions: closed, open, and limit. The gate will automatically stop and lock when reaching these three positions. To improve reliability, the gate operation position is controlled by the gate opening measurement and control device and the master controller in a mutual backup manner.
1.Before installation by the domestic air shield gate manufacturer, first check whether the steel dam gate leaf, bottom rotating shaft and other components are damaged during transportation and handling; check the crane conditions: crane tonnage and crane protection devices; test and determine the hoisting tools, special tooling and hoisting points for the steel dam gate leaf.
2.Determine the position of the hinge support seat, install the waterproof sleeve, connect the bottom rotating shaft, and align and level it with a level gauge.
3.Install the gate: place the gate horizontally as a whole, aligning with the bolt holes of the bottom rotating shaft. Then connect and adjust the gate leaves in sequence, and tighten the gate leaf connecting bolts.
4.Connection between the steel dam gate leaf and the bottom rotating shaft: tighten the special bolts one by one, row by row, step by step, repeatedly, back and forth for four to five times until the bolts are fully tightened, ensuring there is no gap between the gate and the bottom rotating shaft.
5.Install the bottom water-stop rubber and side water-stop rubber to ensure tight sealing of the bottom and side water stops, with uniform compression up and down, and the compression amount is 5mm.
6.Remove debris: check every screw hole of the steel dam gate to ensure firmness, and avoid under-tightening or missing bolts.
7.If any abnormal conditions are found during commissioning, stop use immediately and carry out timely inspection and repair.
8.Submit for inspection, accept the company’s comprehensive inspection, and hand over for use.
