There are only 100 days left until the Beijing Winter Olympics.
The 100-day themed event marking the opening of Beijing 2022 was grandly held in Beijing on October 26th. Han Zheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau, Vice Premier, and head of the 24th Working Group, attended the event and unveiled the Beijing medal "Tongxin" (United Heart). At the event, athletes, volunteers, and representatives from all sectors of society gathered together. Han Zheng, along with Yang Yang, Chairman of the Athletes' Commission of the Chinese Olympic Committee and Beijing Olympic Winter Games Organizing Committee, and Zhang Yufei, a Chinese Olympic swimmer, activated the device, revealing the stunning Beijing medal "Tongxin". The Beijing medal "Tongxin" features a circular ring with a circular center, drawing inspiration from the ancient Chinese jade disc with concentric circles. It consists of five rings, symbolizing the unity of the five rings and their convergence towards a common goal, expressing the Chinese cultural connotation of "unity between heaven and earth, and the unity of the people's hearts", and also symbolizing the Olympic spirit that brings people together to share in the glory of the Winter Olympics. The medal design echoes the "gold-encrusted jade" design of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games medals, showcasing the cultural heritage of the "city of the two Olympic Games". The center of the medal's front side is engraved with the Olympic rings logo, and the circular ring is lightly engraved with decorative patterns, all derived from traditional Chinese patterns. The ice and snow patterns embody the characteristics, while the auspicious cloud patterns convey auspicious meanings.
