The tetrapod-shaped zinc oxide whisker polymer matrix composite invented by our company has been granted 4 invention patents and has won 4 provincial and ministerial-level and Shenyang Science and Technology Progress Awards.
Tetrapod-shaped zinc oxide whiskers (T-ZnOw) are the only whiskers with a regular three-dimensional structure in the whisker family. When applied to polymer composites, they can provide reinforcement, toughening, antistatic, antibacterial, and wave-absorbing properties.
As an activator, reinforcement and functional additive, they are widely used in rubber, plastics, coatings, inks, etc.
As a reinforcing agent, they also impart antistatic and other functions to polymer materials.For example: when 6v% of T-ZnOw is added to reinforced epoxy composites, the tensile strength is increased to 169%, the impact strength to 300%, with isotropy, and the volume resistivity is reduced by 8 orders of magnitude.
When used as a reinforcing and toughening agent or functional additive in plastic products, they can endow various plastic products with good isotropic mechanical properties, wear resistance, aging resistance, antistatic properties, antibacterial properties, wave absorption, radiation protection and other characteristics.Typical applications include thermoplastics such as PP, PE, POM, PS, Nylon, MC Nylon, ABS, and thermosets such as epoxy resin, phenolic epoxy, and unsaturated polyester.
